Privacy Policy

LiddleCare is the app Liddle Lyceum uses to keep parents and guardians up to date on their child's day. This policy explains what information we hold, where it comes from, and what we do and do not do with it. It covers the LiddleCare parent app and this website.
Who is responsible for your information
Liddle Lyceum is responsible for the information held about you and your child. We decide what is recorded as part of caring for your child, and we are the controller of that information.
LiddleCare is the software we use to do it. It stores records on our behalf and delivers them to you in the app.
If you want a record corrected or removed, or you have a question about how information is handled, contact us and we will deal with it directly.
Information in the app
Your account. Your mobile phone number, your name, and your relationship to each child. Your phone number is how you sign in.
Your child's records, entered by our staff. Name, date of birth, room or class, profile photo, attendance and check-in times, and daily activity entries. Depending on the day, activity entries can include meals, naps, nappy changes, bathroom visits, mood notes, temperature readings, medication given, incident reports, observations, and photos or videos.
People you authorise. The names and contact details of people permitted to collect your child, and emergency contacts.
Messages. Conversations between you and our staff, including anything you write and when it was sent and read.
Absences and pickup notes. Anything you submit through the app, such as marking your child absent with a reason, or sending a note about who is collecting them.
Billing records. Invoices and transactions we have issued to your family. The app displays these; it does not take payments and never asks for or stores card or bank details.
Notices from us. Newsletters, calendar events and meal plans.
Technical information. A push notification token for your device so we can deliver alerts, plus basic device type and app version.
Where the information comes from
Most of it comes from our staff, who enrol your child and record what happens during the day.
The rest comes from you, when you send a message, mark an absence, submit a pickup note, or change your notification settings.
We do not buy information about you, and we do not collect it from other services or from advertising networks.
How we use it
- To show you your child's day, messages, calendar, meals, newsletters and billing records.
- To deliver the messages and absence notices you send to our staff.
- To send push notifications you have asked for, such as a new message or a daily update.
- To send the one-time code by SMS that signs you in.
- To keep the service secure, investigate misuse, and fix faults.
- To meet the legal and regulatory obligations that apply to a childcare setting.
What we do not do
We think this list matters as much as the one above.
- We do not sell or rent your information, or your child's, to anyone.
- We do not use it for advertising, and there are no ads in the app.
- There is no analytics, tracking, advertising or profiling SDK in the app. We do not track you across other apps or websites.
- We do not use your information, your messages, or your child's records to train machine learning models.
- We do not share your child's records with other families at the setting.
Who else touches your information
A small number of service providers help us run the app. They act on our instructions and may not use your information for their own purposes.
- Supabase, which hosts the database and file storage where records are kept.
- Expo, which delivers push notifications to your device.
- Arkesel, which delivers the SMS containing your sign-in code. They receive your phone number and the code, nothing else.
Beyond these, we share information only with you, or where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to protect a child.
Where your information is held
Records are stored on servers in the European Union. Our staff access them from the setting as part of running it day to day.
How long it is kept
We keep your child's records for as long as they are enrolled, and afterwards for the period required of a childcare setting. Some records, such as attendance and incident reports, we are obliged to retain even after a child leaves.
Your account stays active while at least one of your children is enrolled. Push notification tokens are removed when you sign out or uninstall the app.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask for a copy of the information held about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to how it is used, and to complain to a data protection authority.
To exercise any of these, contact us at support@liddlecare.com or speak to us at the setting. We will respond within the time the law allows and tell you plainly if there is something we cannot remove and why.
Deleting your account
We create and manage your account, so closing it is something we arrange rather than something that happens instantly in the app.
You can request deletion from Settings, under "Delete my account". We will confirm what can be removed and close your access. Records we are legally required to keep, such as attendance and incident reports, are retained for the required period and then deleted.
You can also email support@liddlecare.com to make the same request.
Security
Traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit. Access to records is enforced at the database level, so an account can only read the children it is linked to.
Signing in requires a one-time code sent to your registered phone number; there is no password to guess or reuse. Please keep your phone secure and tell us promptly if you change your number or lose your device.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your information, we will tell you and the relevant authority where the law requires it.
Children
The app is for parents, guardians and our staff. It is not designed for children and children do not have accounts.
Information about children is recorded by our staff as part of caring for them, under the consent and enrolment arrangements you agreed with us. We collect nothing directly from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Where a change is significant, we will tell you in the app or by message rather than relying on you to notice.
Contact us
Questions about this policy, or about the information held about you or your child, can go to support@liddlecare.com, or you can speak to us at the setting.
